Job Description

Employment Source is looking for an AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN to work (Full Time) in Billings.

 

  • ASE certification preferred (we will pay for certification)

 

WORKING ON:

·        Trucks

·        Sport utility vehicles

·        Passenger vans

·        Sedans & Coupes

·        Medium duty trucks.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all parts and systems.

  • Communicate the diagnosis and check list to service centers management including strategy for repair to customers including explanation of problems, procedure steps.

  • No repairs can be made without the customers’ approval.

  • Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records.

  • Examine cars based on customer requests and/or concerns.

  • Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.

  • Perform basic maintenance including rotating tires, checking fluid levels, and changing oil.

  • Repair or replace worn parts and systems such as spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors.

  • Assess systems and individual parts to ensure proper working order and/or to evaluate degree of damage.

  • Identify mechanical and electrical problems with computerized diagnostic equipment, technical information provided by Brown’s, and the naked eye.

  • Determine appropriate repair measures based on research, peer-to-peer examination, and experience.

  • Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately, considering the original repair strategy and customer specifications.

  • Always ensure customer satisfaction by checking your work and vehicle test drive to ensure the repairs are done properly.

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology preferred.

  • Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair preferred.

  • Experience in engine performance preferred

  • Experience in transmission functions preferred.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Certification in a related field from a vocational school a plus

  • Strong verbal communication skills (will be expected to relay auto repair information to customers and other mechanics)

  • Meticulous and thorough, organized.

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Mechanically and analytically minded.

  • Always ensure customer satisfaction by checking your work and vehicle test drive to ensure the repairs are done properly.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical strength and stamina, and ability to lift 95 lbs. unassisted.

  • Must have a valid driver license and maintain a clean driving record.

  • Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety. This includes but is not limited to washing floors, hauling garbage, disposing of old parts, filters, and oils.

  • Working under a car requires working with your hands above your head.

  • Working under hood requires you to be able to bend and work in the engine compartment.

 

PAY RATE: $28 - $45 /hour (depending on experience)

 

SCHEDULE: Full Time

(Monday-Friday) 8-5pm
