JOB DESCRIPTION:

Core Responsibilities – Seed Cleaning & Handling

Order Assembly & Shipping Preparation

• Assemble seed orders by lot and variety onto pallets

• Accurately stage, stack, and organize seed for shipment

• Wrap and secure pallets for transport and storage using industrial wrap

• Ensure correct labeling and separation of seed lots prior to shipment

Set-Up for Seed Runs

• Close up and tape all equipment legs

• Gather and install screens

• Shut down, clean, and re-run bins between lots

• Set the mill and dump

• Take seed samples for indent and cleaning verification

• Blow down equipment between lots

Clean-Down Between Lots

• Clear area of trash cans, litter, and white bins

• Vacuum equipment legs

• Remove screens

• Blow down equipment top-to-bottom

• Sweep facility

• Vacuum equipment legs again

Seed Receiving & Unloading

• Unload seed from trucks using hopper and conveyor belt systems

• Monitor seed flow into bins to prevent contamination or overflow

• Coordinate bin placement and lot separation during unloading

Facility Opening & Shutdown Procedures

Opening / Close-Up

• Open bay doors

• Turn on lights

• Open yard gate

• Turn on fans

• Turn on air compressor

Seasonal & Maintenance Duties (Slow Summer Months)

• Grease all equipment legs, tables, and related components

• Inspect mills for broken or worn parts

• Service forklifts

• Check oil levels in gear boxes

• Blow dust off fire system pipes

• Spray weeds around buildings using a backpack sprayer

Work Environment & Conditions

• Regularly works around grass and forage seed dust

• Indoor and outdoor work environment

• Exposure to dust, machinery noise, and industrial equipment

Physical & Equipment Requirements

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs

• Role involves prolonged standing

• Operates forklifts and fork-lift attachments

• Operates hopper and conveyor belt systems

• Able to drive a seed truck

• Shovels snow as needed

• Moves snow using forklift and attachments

• Be able to haul pallets of seed using a truck and gooseneck trailer

PAY RATE: $19.00 /hour

SCHEDULE: Full Time

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
